Last week, in light of #WorldHumanitarianDay, we talked about some needy sectors and how you can help them. We promised a second segment, so here are a few more areas where you can extend hope, help, and healing to others.
In partnering with various organisations, Vision HimPossible Ministries helps provide basic essentials for underprivileged communities such as clean water, nutritious food, healthcare, and spiritual guidance. In the island of Mindoro, VHM initiated a fundraiser to donate 2 water pumps to a Mangyan tribe in the Philippines.
Now, the residents have a steady supply of fresh, clean water they can call their own. Their outreach partners in the U.S., Mexico and India are also rapidly expanding as they provide food, clothing, diapers, bedding, and toys to the hungry and homeless. VHM also works with U.S. school districts to host an on-site vocational work program that teaches basic job skills for teens and young adults with developmental disabilities. Rescue and Recovery
VHM’s rescue and recovery programs have two general areas of outreach. One category aims to provide medical assistance for indigenous people groups, which entails partnering with different organisations, hospitals, and churches to help give needy members of tribal communities the medical attention that they need but do not have access to. Among the subsidiaries are who need to undergo surgery for cases such as bowlegs, cleft palates, and the like. If 50 people gave $20 each, that would be enough to sponsor 1 child’s 1 child’s orthopaedic surgery in the Philippines and help change their life.
Another branch is rehabilitation for abused children. Because of the heartbreaking number of children who suffer from sexual abuse, sometimes at the hands of their own families, VHM supports organisations that specialise in rescue and recovery programs for young women and children, immersing them in theater, music, dance, quilting, and drawing workshops as a forms of therapy. VHM hopes to reach out to them and let them see that there’s hope beyond what they’ve suffered through by bringing joy and healing into their lives. The Give Two-gether Program
Total Resources International recently launched a national giving initiative called “Give Twogether,” where buying 1 first aid kit supports 2 charities: Vision Himpossible Ministries, whose work we’ve shared with you, and Hope For the Warriors, an organisation which provides transition, health, and community support for service members, veterans, and military families.
